The World Health Organization director general is under pressure to resign after being accused of misleading the world on Covid -19 pandemic.
The petition that was launched on change. org has attracted over 700 thousand signatures around the world.
The petition translated into dozens of languages such as Arabic, German, French and Spanish calls for Mr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus resignation for misleading the world on the extent of Covid -19 damage by relying on Chinese government data rather than carrying out independent data collection.
The director general is also accused of failing to designate the virus as a global emergency in late January after the virus was first reported in China.
Over 1.2 million people have tested positive for coronavirus in the world and another 60,000 have died according to John Hopkins Coronavirus database. The virus has also spread to 200 countries and territories since it was first reported in December last year.
