President Uhuru Kenyatta has now taken it upon himself to end the major division that has ailed the Jubilee party for almost a year now.
Reports indicate that the president has called for a meeting among the top officials of the party including the Deputy President William Ruto and the party secretary general Raphael Tuju.
Deputy President William Ruto already seems to be in support of Uhuru’s new move as he called upon the leaders to rally behind the president.
“We must continue to support the President as he works on the transformation of the country and the unity of the nation,” he stated on Saturday at ACK St Thomas Church in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga county.
For months, the ruling party has been divided with a section of the members siding with the president and others supporting DP Ruto.
Tension had already started brewing up in the party especially on the matters concerning the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
