The commitment of a 76-year old man to pay his last respects to the late former president of Kenya Daniel Moi has seen him make headlines.

Mr. Ambuti first attracted attention on Tuesday when he was locked out of Mzee Moi’s home in Kabarak.

He revealed that the motivation behind his four day journey of cycling approximately 223 KM stemmed from Moi’s policy for peace across Africa.

“I would not wish to miss the funeral of the man who was an icon of peace not only in Kenya but across Africa,” he stated as quoted by The Standard.

The self-proclaimed ambassador of Peace from Butere was finally allowed to enter Mzee Moi’s home.
